A group of friends here in Japan are throwing a baby shower for one of us who is pregnant and due in March. In Japan they do not do "Baby Showers" so this will be the first for them. There will be games with prizes, punch, food, party favors, and gifts.I made this little diaper cake as the centerpiece for the table.
I also made these cupcakes.

How is is that your icing is so perfect? And the writing on the cupcakes, that as well?
Veronica the icing I get smooth by rubbing it lightly with a Viva paper towel. It has to be VIVA and it has to be the kind of frosting that will crust up when it sits out for about 10 minutes. I frost all the cupcakes and then when I am done with the last one I got back to the top and start rubbing them smooth. I also use this technique for cakes as well. The writing is perfect because it isn't my writing! I actually STINK at writing on cakes. I use these things called Tap Outs. The lettering is fondant and I use the tap outs to cut out the letters. The tap outs I used are called Funky lettering.
